2012 Wheat Sheaf Dollar - $1 Silver Proof C Mintmark
In a continuation of mintmark themes harkening to pre-decimal designs, as in the case of the Ram’s Head Dollar produced in 2011, the 2012 Mintmark Series will feature a replica of another Australian threepence coin design. The first ‘wheat sheaf’ threepence design was in circulation from 1938 to 1964 and designed by George Kruger Grey.
The design used on this coin reflects a hard working Australia that has enjoyed an expanding economy for the past 120 years due in part to the successful development of its primary industries. Beautifully presented with a silver proof finish, this coin has a mintage of 12 500.
The 2012 $1 Silver Proof Wheat Sheaf Coin is stamped with the Canberra mintmark and then placed into a clear coin capsule housed in a black leatherette case which is encased inside a classically presented outer box alongside a Certificate of Authenticity.
