2011 Perth Mint Year of the Rabbit 1oz Silver Proof Rectangle Four-Coin Set
Celebrating the Year of the Rabbit, this four-coin set is a prestigious and exceptionally limited offering from The Perth Mint. In Chinese culture, people born in the Year of the Rabbit - 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999 and 2011 - are regarded as intelligent, articulate, compassionate, and loyal.
Each rectangle coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver. The 2011 Brown Rabbit 1oz Silver Proof Lunar Rectangle Coin features a mature rabbit in colour sitting on the ground. The background depicts bamboo, leaf and mountain motifs. The 2011 White Rabbit 1oz Silver Proof Lunar Rectangle Coin depicts two mature rabbits in colour - one full face and one in profile, sitting on the ground. The background incorporates bamboo, leaf, tree, and wind motifs. The 2011 Black Rabbit 1oz Silver Proof Lunar Rectangle Coin depicts a mature rabbit in colour sitting on the ground. The background incorporates wind and plant motifs. The 2011 Grey Rabbit 1oz Silver Proof Lunar Rectangle Coin features a representation of two mature rabbits in colour. The rabbits are sitting on the ground against a background depicting flower, wind, and leaf motifs. As well as the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appears on the reverse of all four coins.
No more than 3,000 numbered sets will be released by The Perth Mint.
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of the Cook Islands. The Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2011 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each coin
All in great condition. Accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, the four-coin set is housed in an exciting new transparent display case to allow viewing of the coins from both sides and illustrated shipper.
